3rd Party Webinar: Creating Joy Through Spiritual Relationships and Volunteer Service by Daphne Johnston and Dr. Susan McFadden — Thursday, 12 February 2026 at 2100 UTC

How Faith Communities Can Support Dementia Care through Memory Cafes, Long-term Care Outreach, and Community Respite Programs.

Presented by Daphne Johnston and Susan McFadden.

No matter the setting–whether it’s a Memory Cafe, long-term care community, or a volunteer-led respite day in a faith community–the heart of our work is the same: creating spaces where people feel seen, valued, and connected. Each model provides simple steps to inspire volunteers to practice the ministry of presence, to rediscover joy through simple moments of companionship, and to remind all involved that these relationships are deeply reciprocal. Together, these three approaches form a bridge between faith and action, showing that when we serve with love, we nurture the spirit in all of us.
