3rd Party: Engaging Young Leaders through Media – Thursday, 4 April 2019 at 1200 GMT/UTC

Murray Stiller is a professor in the Media and Communications Department at Redeemer University in Hamilton, Ontario (Canada). On Thursday, 4 April 2019 at 1200 GMT, Prof. Stiller will discuss how to engage young leaders by working with story, video, and digital media to connect their calling and interest with your vocation and/or organizational needs. More specifically, he will discuss how young leaders can be engaged to help with your marketing, fundraising, public relations, and public engagement tasks even if you only have access to phones and simple video equipment.

Prof. Stiller is an accomplished sound designer and filmmaker. He was awarded the Student Academy Award for his film ‘The Vermeers‘ (2011) and is well-noted for his long-form films ‘Debating Christ’, ‘Nailin’ It To The Church’, and ‘Extreme Jesus’, which have shown and sold in film festivals around the world. He has a PhD in Philosophy from the European Graduate School in Switzerland where he wrote on how sound in cinema is understood through Martin Heidegger’s philosophy of unconcealing language and art. His work, Sound in Cinema, was recently published by Atropos Press (2016).
